MGA Awards and Recognition Program
The awards and recognition program of the Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Board is designed to promote, recognize, and reward excellence in promoting the interests of IEEE as reflected in the operations of MGA and IEEE geographic unit activities (Regions, Councils, Areas, Sections, Chapters, Affinity Groups, Student Branches, and Student Branch Chapters). The program is administered by the MGA Awards and Recognition Committee (MGA ARC).

Recent Award Recipients
2023 MGA Outstanding Section Award Recipients
On 17 June 2023, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board selected the following recipients of the 2023 MGA Outstanding Section Awards:
- 2023 MGA Outstanding Large Section Award recipient is the IEEE Italy Section from Region 8.
- 2023 MGA Outstanding Medium Section Award recipient is the IEEE Tainan Section from Region 10.
- 2023 MGA Outstanding Small Section Award recipient is the IEEE South Saskatchewan Section from Region 7.
Congratulations to the Italy, Tainan, and South Saskatchewan Sections for being selected for these awards and "for their successful efforts in fulfilling IEEE's educational and scientific goals for the benefit of the public by maintaining, enhancing and supporting the Student Branches, Technical Chapters and Affinity Groups within their geographic boundaries."

MGA William W. Middleton Distinguished Service Award Recipient
On 17 June 2023, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board selected Maike Luiken (R7) London Section as the 2023 award recipient. Congratulations to Maike Luiken, "For exemplary leadership and commitment to MGA, IEEE members and the public, and for championing technological solutions to sustainable development and climate change challenges".
Friend of MGA Award Recipients
On 17 June 2023, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Board approved the following recipients for the 2023 Organizational Supporting Friend of IEEE MGA Award: Facultad Regional Buenos Aires - Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN BA) from Region 9, Argentina, London Stock Exchange Group/LSEG from Region 10, Sri Lanka, and Children’s Week Council of Australia (CWCOA), from Region 10. On behalf of the MGA Board and the MGA Awards and Recognition Committee, congratulations to the winners and thank you to all the members who took the time to submit nominations.
