General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

IEEE understands that, in an increasingly data-driven world, keeping personal data private is becoming more difficult.  IEEE is committed to respecting your privacy and keeping your personal data secure.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which takes effect on 25 May 2018, aims to protect individual privacy and give people more control over their personal information.

What’s changing?

We have a cross-organizational task force in place that is working to ensure consistency in how this new regulation will impact your day-to-day IEEE volunteer activities. We are introducing new data collection and handling processes to ensure the way we all communicate is compliant and efficient. We will also explain any modifications to other communication tools in the near future.

What happens next?

We’ll keep you informed as we make these important enhancements and will be providing training. In the meantime, please visit ieee.org/gdpr to learn more.

Thank you for your continued contributions to IEEE and for your support.
