  • Meet the 2024 IEEE President-Elect Candidates Forum

    Saturday, 12 August | 5:45pm ET
    Register today for the Meet the 2024 IEEE President-Elect Candidates Forum, which will be held on Saturday, 12 August 2023 from 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm EDT.

    During this livestream event, candidates Roger U. Fujii and Kathleen A. Kramer will answer questions on issues important to IEEE members. 2023 IEEE President and CEO Saifur Rahman will host and moderate the event.

    This is an opportunity to hear from the 2024 IEEE President-Elect candidates and be better informed ahead of the 2023 annual election. Balloting starts on 15 August 2023.

Announcing the 2023 MGA Volunteer Leadership Training Program

Apply for the 2023 VoLT Program today

The MGA Training Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the 2023 IEEE MGA Volunteer Leadership Training (VoLT) Program. The VoLT Program invites volunteers who have a desire to continue growing as IEEE volunteers and lead their local units to complete the program’s prerequisite courses. Prospective candidates can apply to the program from now until 31 July 2023.

To date, 498 volunteers representing all ten IEEE Regions, and over 160 Sections, have graduated from the VoLT Program. As a testament to its success, graduates are taking positions of leadership with their local operational units and beyond.

IEEE India Office Operations Update

Srikanth (Sri) Chandrasekaran was recently named Country Head – India in the IEEE office in Bangalore, India, replacing Harish Mysore who stepped down. In this role, Sri leads the IEEE India staff of 50 professionals and supports the IEEE India office's efforts to advance IEEE’s mission. He has worked with the IEEE Standards Association (SA) for the past eleven years. Prior to IEEE, Sri worked in industry in the area of electronic design automation.

The India office team regularly engages and collaborates with IEEE Sections in India, the India Council, and technical societies on their activities in India. Contact Sri at: sri.chandra@ieee.org

EPICS in IEEE Team Completes and Deploys Assistive Device to Blind Students in India

Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT), Bangalore in collaboration with the National Association for the Blind (NAB), created and deployed a device called ‘OurVision’ to assist the blind.
