Announcing the 2022 MGA Volunteer Leadership Training Program
The MGA Training Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the 2022 IEEE MGA Volunteer Leadership Training (VoLT) Program. The VoLT Program invites volunteers who have a desire to continue growing as IEEE volunteers and lead their local units to complete the program’s prerequisite courses. Prospective candidates can apply to the program from now until 30 July 2022.
To date, over 430 volunteers representing all ten IEEE Regions, and over 150 Sections, have graduated from the VoLT Program. As a testament to its success, graduates are taking positions of leadership with their local operational units and beyond.

Calling all innovators to enter the 2022 IEEE Connecting the Unconnected Challenge!
Help IEEE contribute to worldwide digital inclusion by submitting a novel, early-stage project or concept that offers unique ways to increase Internet access and usage for the 2.9 billion unconnected people around the world. The global 2022 IEEE Connecting the Unconnected Challenge is open for submissions of unique solutions for bridging the digital divide.
Internet access is critical to education, industry, and healthy living. Unconnected populations lack access to buy and sell goods and services online. Students lack access to the abundance of remote learning opportunities. During the pandemic, working or studying from home was impossible for unconnected populations. The IEEE Connecting the Unconnected Challenge seeks to further connectivity by calling for early-stage projects and concepts that pursue unique ways to increase broadband access and usage for unconnected or under-connected populations/geographies.
Start-ups, grassroots organizations, universities, and others working toward digital inclusion in original ways are encouraged to participate. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners in multiple categories at the 2022 IEEE Connecting the Unconnected Summit, which will take place as a virtual event in November. Read the competition rules and learn how to enter your novel projects here: ctu.ieee.org/#challenge.
