Doubling the Difference: The Power of Employer Matching for Volunteers

IEEE foundation gift box image

IEEE leaders, like you, play a crucial role in driving positive change, dedicating your time, talent, and treasure to the mission of IEEE. What you many may not realize is that your contributions (both of money and/or volunteer time) can be amplified through an employer matching program. Employees who initiate these matching gift requests often can designate the funds. This gives your geographic unit the opportunity to raise additional funds for your philanthropic priorities. Consider how you can market matching gifts to your volunteers and members.

Below are some resources to help in marketing matching gifts to your volunteers/members:

  • IEEE Foundation Matching Gift Webpage – contains a widget where potential donors can search their employer policies.
  • Profile on matching gift donor: Mythili Chaganti.

    What are matching gifts?

Employer matching programs are a form of corporate philanthropy where companies match their employees' charitable contributions, including cash donations and volunteer hours. The amounts for both options vary based on the organizations. Employers are constantly changing policies for matching gifts, volunteers should always check with their employer to get the most up-to-date policies.

If you have additional questions about matching gifts, please contact the IEEE Foundation at: donate@ieee.org

Open Access Dataset Uploads 50% off through April 30th

50% off on open access

IEEE DataPort is running a limited time promotion, making Open Access Dataset Uploads 50% off now through April 30, 2024.

This is a $975 value!

Open Access datasets are a great way to support Open Access initiatives. Uploading an Open Access dataset makes it free for any IEEE DataPort user to view your research data (unlike Standard Datasets that only Subscribers get access to). Open Access datasets up to 2TB can be uploaded to IEEE DataPort.

Making your research data freely available to IEEE DataPort users can help you gain more citations on your research. Uploading datasets as Open Access can also help you meet funding agency requirements and helps ensure compliance with data requirements to secure future research funding.

Other Open Access Datasets Benefits:

  • Supports research reproducibility.
  • Facilitates discoverability.
  • Accelerates research.
  • Fosters innovation.
  • Enables the data to be linked to a published paper.
  • Enables your ability to receive and share feedback with other researchers.
