The Faculty Resources Committee has partnered with The Frontiers in Education (FIE), IEEE Education Society and the Teaching Excellence Hub to bring you access to an engaging panel discussion on "Faculty Leadership" on Friday, 20 October at 10:15am EDT. Participants will learn leadership knowledge and critical skills to prepare them for their careers in the future from our panelists with various academic leadership roles in engineering disciplines.

- Be a Proctor for the IEEEXtreme 17.0 Worldwide Coding Competition – an Opportunity to Micro-Volunteer
28 October
IEEEXtreme is a 24-hour virtual computer coding competition exclusively open for IEEE Students to compete and showcase their problem-solving and computer coding skills. Teams require an IEEE Member of Higher Grade to be their proctor to qualify for ranking, certificates, and prizes. The competition will take place on 28 October 2023. If you are an IEEE Member who has graduated from school, then you are eligible to be an IEEEXtreme proctor. It is not necessary for you to have any specialized knowledge in the computer programming field. Each proctor can monitor up to 20 teams during the competition. It is not necessary to be in the same physical location as your teams, this can be done using any virtual platform. Proctors do not need to be present during the full 24 hours of the event, they can work with other registered proctors in shifts. Proctor registration is now open.

- IEEE-HKN Student Leadership Conference is coming to the University of Houston!

On November 3-5, 2023, the University of Houston will be the host campus for IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu’s Student Leadership Conference (SLC), an annual event that draws hundreds of HKN electrical and computer engineering and computer science students from around the world to engage in learning sessions, network, and take part in our Recruitment Fair. IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is the honor society of IEEE comprising 270 chapters at the top engineering universities across the globe.

Interested in Promoting Climate Change at an Event? A New Resource Can Help!
At IEEE Sections Congress 2023 in Ottawa, Canada, the IEEE Climate Change pavilion took center stage in the exhibit hall and rallied IEEE volunteers around promoting sustainability. The pavilion offered a variety of activities that aimed to engage visitors, provide educational resources and to promote ways for them to take action.
Activities included:
Volunteers sharing their expertise on climate change and discussing the work they are doing in this area.
Visitors taking the Climate Change Challenge to test their current knowledge and to explore educational resources.
Taking action by signing up for the IEEE Climate Change Newsletter, visiting the IEEE Climate Change Website or making a personal climate change pledge.
If you are planning to host an IEEE Climate Change presence in your Section or Region, a best practices guide has been created to help you. In it you will find information and links on how to leverage the resources presented at Sections Congress and scale it for your event.

New MGA Award Approval Process
Did you know about the new MGA award approval process for Geographic Unit awards?
Effective 2023, all MGA geographic units and MGA Committees must follow the new award approval process. The new process routes all Region, Area, Council, Section, Chapter, Affinity Group and Student Branch new award proposals or revisions to existing awards to the respective Region for final approval.
New award proposals from MGA Committees will be forwarded to MGA ARC and MELCC for endorsement and to the MGA Board for final approval.
MGA ARC will evaluate all proposals for new awards or revision of existing awards. All award proposals must be submitted using the MGA Awards Template and sent to the MGA ARC Chair at:
