IEEE will soon be extending Concur, the new Volunteer Expense Reimbursement Platform, to IEEE Regions!  Concur is already in use by IEEE Major Boards, Committees, Societies and Technical Councils and the feedback has been very positive.

Concur is a cloud-based expense reporting and reimbursement platform, and is designed to create a fast and efficient electronic expense reimbursement experience for IEEE volunteers.  IEEE's implementation of Concur already delivers volunteers a broad range of benefits, including faster reimbursement and the ability to track real-time status of expense reports. This affects you if you submit expense reports to a Region.

Concur has been introduced in a multi-phased rollout that began in Q4 2018 and is anticipated to extend to Regions in late September.  More information is coming soon, so stay tuned!

IEEE Learning Network Article

THE INSTITUTE Finding all the continuing-education programs IEEE offers used to require searching more than 40 websites, platforms, and portals. That’s no longer the case. The new IEEE Learning Network (ILN) is a centralized website that provides access to more than 700 courses, webinars, and eLearning programs.

More than a dozen IEEE groups have provided content so far, including the Computer SocietyFuture Directions, Humanitarian Activities, the Power & Energy Society, and the Standards Association.

“We are all committed to providing the best possible learning experience to IEEE members and others in the engineering and technical community,” says Witold Kinser, vice president, IEEE Educational Activities. “We are pleased to offer this easy-to-use portal to help people find the IEEE educational content they need to advance in their career.”

IEEE would like to invite you to explore society Resource Centers.  Visit the Resource Centers and utilize all of the valuable content that is provided such as tutorials and conference videos and slides. All material is consolidated in one location and made available to society members for free.

This valuable content is also available to non-members for a small fee! The IEEE Resource Centers is organized by content type and is user-friendly, making it very easy to locate and view. Now you can go to your IEEE society Resource Centers to find and view content that will help you expand your knowledge base.

IEEE staff and volunteers may interact with children through a multitude of diverse programs, including, but not limited to: educational STEM programs and clubs, conferences, mentoring programs, workshops, and others. If you currently participate in IEEE programs that involve working with children, or plan to do so, please review the IEEE Guidelines For Working With Children and IEEE Policies. The Guidelines are referenced within the IEEE Civility Policy.

The IEEE Board of Directors approved the following revisions to IEEE Policies - Section 10 at its 2018 October meeting. These revisions reflect the best practices and current operations of IEEE Meetings, Conferences & Events (MCE), particularly where policy may have fallen out of sync with current practices. Aligning these operations with practice will lay the groundwork to focus on areas of risk rather than administrative rules and start the process for shifting resources to create better support of our control environment.
